A Case for the Cardinal

'Nuff said.

After a month, SJEC is over. If you couldn't tell from the pics I've posted before, this year had a lot of great memories. Props to all the officers for running a great program (or am I just saying that because I know all of them? :P ) Anyway, here are the final set of pictures (until I find my way to Japan again):

Washoku Day:

Shino cuts one of the many birthday cakes

The students serenading us with a famous Japanese folk song

Tahoe:
Only two pictures here...I don't think I'm legally allowed to put the other ones up.

Akiho wrestles with Arthur

The incredible view by our cabin

Farewell Party:

Chillin

The best way to have fun? Why, wearing the same balloon as one of your hosts!

Shino deciding that maybe that's not such a hot idea

My Chinese-speaking partner, Taya

Nori really knows how to show a guy a good time

Shino was good enough sport to take a picture with me, even after seeing what Nori did to the balloon

Aiko and Mayumi

Naomi with her new pet

Fun with balloons

Kaipo getting tossed in the air

Christine and Naomi

Christine, Catherine, and Risa

The Tahoe car reunited!

I just got my hair cut. I think they're ice skating down in hell right now. I like it, but MAN I look like a fob.

On another note, here's my personal battle cry:

What Is Your Battle Cry?

Hark! Who is that, prowling along the candy store! It is Tim, hands clutching buzzsaw hand extensions! And with a low grunt, her voice cometh:

"I'm going to make tacos with your corpse!!!"

Find out!

More pictures

Instead of working on my paper, I think I'll add up more pictures. These are from last night, after gorging ourselves off of Korea House, and finishing up things with crazy karaoke.

So much food...

...which Aiko didn't mind eating

Big Update

feeling: like the whole world is against me

Not really, but when the stress starts piling up, it sure feels that way sometimes.

Apologies for the lack of updates...I've been getting a lot of flack for not updating, but those who know me should have known that this was a doomed experiment right from the get-go.

Lots of things have happened since break, and I have a ton of pictures to post. First up, headed up to Monument Valley (where they filmed Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) with the family:

Lots of rocks

If you think my hair is long, check out the pics below

My camera can handle sunsets!

Poker Night:

Can it be? All of the drawgroup is here?? God sure missed his big chance...

The Making of Christine's Cake:
On the night before Christine's birthday, a bunch of us holed ourselves in my apartment to bake her a cake. And by we, I mean Jess Lee, who pretty much did everything. Um, I made almond jello (which is still in the fridge)?

In the beginning...

...almost there...

...finished!

Taking a small break

Oreo no-bake...in a bowl! Siu Hong looks so proud

SoCal Trip:
Driving 600 miles over the weekend was a little bit insane, but seeing some old friends made the trip definitely worth it. The dance picture is from the UCI intercollegiate garba dancing competition, in which my friend Nipa entered with the UoA team. After-party pics from the House of Blues in Downtown Disneyland.

Vince!

Nipa!

Clubbin in SF:
What started out as a drawgroup trip to SF became a full-blown expedition with 7 other students from Japan. But the more the merrier...the club was tight and even the Yin Yang Twins showed up!

Partying the night away

Mai freaking Aiko?

Goddamn we look so fucking sketch

Merry Christmas!
Every time we have a gathering with family friends, I get a chance to revisit my ultra-dorky past - and not that much has changed over the years - by staying up to the whee hours of the morning playing non-stop computer games, video games, and oh yes, Magic: the Gathering. Lawrence brought his girlfriend to dinner last night and he tried explaining to her that he still played Magic, a game we started playing from sixth grade, and kind of got this blank what the fuck stare in return. Good times. Oh yea, we also ordered four plates of crab puffs. And by we, I mean Brian.

The nice part about being back home is seeing old friends again. This time it was a little more special since, because of studying abroad in Japan, I hadn't seen most of them for at least a year. Aside from the usual gang of family friends, I've got see some old Dobson friends, seeing Return of the King with Nipa, who's little brother has sprouted two feet since I last saw him, hanging with Allen (we better play some ball man), and joking with Chrissy how we were the black sheeps of the family.

Corrections
Thanks to Christine for pointing out that the sidebar was acting funky on IE. I fixed it, but I would recommend Mozilla Firebird as the only real way to go. Why is it better? Tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, and not having to be scared that clicking on someone's IM buddy profile link will give you a crazy-ass virus are just a couple of reasons.

How I've wasted my break thus far
Saw Return of the King yesterday. Watching it again tonight. Yeah, it's that good, but you have to get passed the 5 or 6 endings and the fact that Peter Jackson feels inclined to fade into black after each ending. Ah well, I'm seeing it again, aren't I?

How productive.
